F r e q u e n t l y  A s k e d  Q u e s t i o n s

  • Do you explain the dances?
Yes! Our dance caller, Tricia, (who is probably the most important member of the band!) has years of experience and is guaranteed to calm any nerves and make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. If she can tame Ainsley Harriot then she can do anything!
  • Can we see the band live before we book?
Yes! We regularly play public ceilidhs in Edinburgh and Glasgow so take a look at our Events page or our Facebook page for our next ceilidh. If the date isn't convenient then let us know as we can usually make arrangements for you to hear us at a private event.
  • Do you have your own equipment?
Annasach have their own PA system and lights which all have a valid PAT certificate. This includes a CD player for background music during our break but can also be used at any point during the evening. You are also more than welcome to provide an MP3 player which we can connect to our PA.
  • How long do you require to set up?
Annasach will arrive at your chosen venue one hour before the agreed playing time to set up. It usually takes us 45 minutes but sometimes it can be a long way from the door to the stage! If your event is running late, please take into account that we will still require this time to ensure that everything is set-up perfectly. You can request that we set up earlier but there may be an additional cost.
  • How far do you travel?
Although we are based in Central Scotland, Annasach are prepared to play anywhere in the world having played in Amsterdam, Ballater, Carlisle, New York, Peebles, Stevenage and Zurich to name just a few! For gigs within a two hour drive, we would usually travel there and back on the same day/evening. Gigs further away or abroad will require an overnight stay, and our fee will reflect any additional mileage, flights, PA hire, accommodation, etc.
  • Will you perform our first dance?
Of course! We would be delighted to play for your first dance whether you'd like a traditional waltz or you would rather have everyone dancing at once. If you prefer, you are more than welcome to provide the track you want on an MP3 player which we can connect to our PA.
  • Can we plug our iPod into your system for our own selection of songs?
You are welcome to use our equipment to play your own iPod or CD's, usually at no extra cost provided that it is within the agreed playing time of the band.
  • Do you have public liability insurance?
    Yes we do.
  • Do the band require refreshments/food?
If you have a buffet or a tea/coffee break it would be very much appreciated for the band to be able to participate before the second part of our performance. If we have been travelling all day to get to the venue, we may ask you to provide an evening meal as part of the contract.
  • How much does it cost?
Annasach will be able to provide you with a tailored quote for your event. We have a set rate for a Ceilidh up to four hours long and finishing by midnight. There is an additional charge if you would like us to play for longer than four hours or beyond midnight. For an exact quote, please contact us.
  • What about reservation for my date?
Your date will be reserved for fourteen days from last contact. If we have not heard further from you by then we may consider other enquiries for that date.
  • How do I confirm a booking?
Should you wish to proceed with booking Annasach Ceilidh Band for your event then we will require a 30% non-returnable deposit and our contract signed. After this your booking is confirmed.
